You can’t go by this place and not notice it! The three straight-on pictures in the gallery are the three parts of the store. While most of it is a gift shop focused on Route 66 and American memorabilia, one third is dedicated to biking accessories like leather jackets and boots. Outside are classic old cars, outrageously dressed mannequins, and weird little signs galore. It’s quite a site!
The Historic Seligman Sundries is located on Historic Route 66 in Seligman, Arizona. Housed in one of Seligman’s oldest commercial structures – built in 1904 – the centerpiece of the Historic Seligman Sundries is a vintage soda fountain. Today, the Historic Seligman Sundries is Seligman’s only gourmet coffee bar and gift shop.
One hot day in June of 1919 in Lodi, California an entrepreneur named Roy Allen mixed up a batch of creamy root beer and sold the first frosty mug of this delightful beverage for one nickel. Now, over ninety years later, A&W Root Beer is the world’s number one selling root beer and is still made fresh daily and sold at hundreds of A&W Restaurants. Allen experienced tremendous success and in 1923, joined in partnership with Frank Wright creating the name, A&W. In 1925, A&W began to franchise and by 1933 had over 170 units in the mid-western United States.
Seligman’s World Famous Black Cat Bar, Route 66 ArizonThe Black Cat Bar has been a part of Seligman since the early 1900’s, is still World Famous and going strong today. The original name was Jolly’s Café named after then owner Maude Jolly, its home near the railroad tracks of Seligman then becoming a Bar just at the end of prohibition in 1934. It is the holder of the; the 4th oldest Class 6 Liquor License of Arizona . With a location move to a building built directly in front of its present home on RT. 66 with the name change to the Black Cat Buffet.Black Cat Bar is addjoining the motel for walking distance just 100yards.
As you can probably tell from the name the Roadkill Café is a dining adventure. The Roadkill is famous for its charbroiled burgers. What can we say, it’s well known that our burgers, steaks and ribs are the best to be found along Route 66.Route 66 Roadkill Cafe is just 5mins walk.
Delgadillo’s Snow Cap Drive-In is a historic eatery and roadside attraction located along former Route 66 in Seligman, Arizona USA.[1] The drive-in was built in 1953 by local resident Juan Delgadillo (May 17, 1916 – June 2, 2004). Delgadillo was working on an extremely limited budget, so he built the restaurant mostly from scrap lumber obtained from the nearby Santa Fe Railroad yard.
Westside Lilo’s opened in June of 1996. The café was originally a hobby shop that opened in 1954 and later became a restaurant a few years later. The restaurant was closed in the early 80’s and remained closed until it was purchased by Lilo in 1996. Lilo opened the restaurant with the help of her husband Patrick and daughters, Nancy and Brenda. Lilo had always dreamed of opening a business and longed to have a place that offered good quality food and a taste of her German specialties that her kids grew up loving to eat. Lilo’s quickly became a favorite of the locals and many people who travel route 66 on a regular basis. Lilo’s’ daily specials and homemade soups continued to drive repeat business and the restaurant today has quite a following. West Side Lilo’s is just 5mins walk.
